Criminal Justice Specialization

This doctoral specialization is designed for professionals who aspire to a high-level position in higher education, a research or consulting agency, a public policy group, or other criminal justice-related organizations. Prepare yourself through intensive course work and research to address the complex issues surrounding criminal behavior, prevention and intervention, the penal system, and the development of public policy strategies. The specialization is well-suited for professionals in human resources, psychology, or a related social science.

This specialization has transitioned from the Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services program to the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Safety program.

Residency Requirements: As a doctoral learner you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. At specific milestones in your program, you will attend three colloquia, each one week in length. See residential colloquia details.
